Another strong day for the S&P:
This month is demonstrating some of the characteristics of these different strategies. Despite having the highest return over the last 12 months the corn strategy is very volatile, which makes it difficult to trade for most people. The beans strategy is much less volatile, but doesn’t trade often (no trades yet in April!). Wheat is in the middle – it has explosive potential but can be subject to quite long drawdowns. Over the past two years, the S&P Surfer has been by far the least volatile and produced steady results… of course, as all traders know, the past is no guarantee of the future!
